@a32k574 years ago Dang, Chezhead is into the Fermi paradox stuff. That solution I always fealt was similar to 2B2T basing too.. that idea of A dark forest and endless predators out to steal and destroy what you have just for existing if you make A noise, as A civilization. When in basing out at 3mil all alone, I want to invite people.. but it's eerie being on such an obviously populated server.. but seeing no signs of others anywhere around you (my main) for months as I build.. not A slightest sign.. but you know there are hundreds of other bases out there you can't see, I wonder what the closest loaded chunks are so far off- axis. The closest ruins.. or active base. 100ks? Something you can't know since it's so isolated.. but in the past closer to spawn many iconic bases in that radius have ended well within the 10k radius of each- other and it's only made known when they both fall as spawn expands, of course the radius gradually grows with that, too.. but you think how easily you could welcome someone and end it all because no matter the expense someone will ALWAYS take the time to come and find you, even if it means dicfering coords/ location either through exploits or clever manipulation once they can know they do, and you will instantly be ended as they will come and won't relent, obviously . ... 20

@WarfareRidge5 years ago I do like your content so keep up the good work and the interviews are great because instead of a general history video you have someone who experienced the history himself and tells the whole story. So thanks for that. 10

@a32k574 years ago I briefly logged on in 2012 on an old account, I didn't like it back then or understand. But all of that history now.. I've found several mostly intact bases from the period, spawn has crept upon many but some were far. Not by 2k2k standards, though.. I've found there I had to dig out from lava- casts but they were stone brick so you could tell the structure excavated. This era is so strange to me, A frequent player now. It's so different, and interestingly mysterious since people didn't really record or stream back then to gather relevant history . ... 6

@a32k574 years ago Damn.. sounds like Facepunch society was more efficient, nowdays there is no trust system in place, there is heavy and accepted multy- basing/ conflicts of interest.. and so on, brand new players overwhelm the server and force servers to let them all in to stay relevant, so brand new players who think the server owes them everything just for joining end up outnumbering actual founders.. they steal petty things like that can actually effect A faction, especially over time when they get away with multiple large- scale raids of communal stashes at times between known active dupes or just after major patches.. this can be damning.... sewing seeds of decent between the "in charge" and moderators of A faction and new members.. leading to A disconnect and lack of communication that makes people feel even more ailienated and since they are less A part of things are more likely to come in conflict, feedback loop.. until enough gather out of the established faction who ACTUALLY know and play with each- other frequently in game and aren't held by some loose and undocumented membership, totally revokable by the way and by now without benefits.. so they decide to go off and start their' own thing, typically not making faction status but just forming bases and leaving when they inevitably fall. This is just because factions fight for power so there are always limited numbers of officially recognized and relevant factions.. although growing with numbers.. and this typically happens, it's why even rich factions get desperate after patches especially.. that alone and the information and rumors of the faction that you are in being cut off from the tap make individual players more uneasy, distrusting, and clingy with their' items because they suddenly become finite and limited to some degree in amount and quantity.. because A faction can only supply you for so long and when the game doesn't update- no more dupes which we're reliant on and factions need to grow and spread do large and thin to be able to survive the numerous grief attacks from extremist centrist factions which only keep members motivated by their' enemies, not economics. When the server goes A while withought good dupes, people begin to worry that we have reached the potentially and totally hypocritical "exploit limit" having them all been patched for A specific version, that being said.. some choose A playstyle just to constaintly try and push boundaries in the meta and find them.. you do worry when it takes so long, in those situations the faction dumps the little bases with no important representation.. or the places established to test trust and to find the worthy or to see who griefs, that is if you stick around and observe outcomes which is necessary to abide in A cohesive group, so that far- out bases don't become so rogue and fall off the map. The risk is that if you don't live in A central town to the faction, and there are many of those, too.. your' supply recources/ building materials and further construction efforts will be cut as base members with connections to more secure locations leave and factions hunker down to provide stashes for the select few worthy founders to get by, because beliey it or now.. when having relied on A bad or slow dupe method for so long to even that be cut.. good stashes.. even communal stashes, can be hard to keep and go fast, especially if shared. People take extra, some will take it all and just run away. Facepunchers didn't have this whole negative complex and dependence.. or the ruined and highly inflated economy.. no dupes. That all changed the game and ended them, it wasn't compatible with the way they learned, A way I respect more gathering for yourself. You could still get goods through meaningful and valued good trade, something thought to be totally redundant now.. remember when gapples are A currency on 2b? Like slimeball period on most servers, before economy plugins were used widely anyways. Now with this age of bots and their' increased capabilities to dupe entire BASES.. whoever controls that and them are the future, the rest like Facepunch will fade out to be defined only by an era later on for not taking better advantage or realizing A newer potential.. Facepunch leadership left anyways. Clearly duping wasn't respected then, can you even IMAGINE A 2B2T where duping is considered widely and unironically to be cheating!? Recognize trends.. even so, most people don't dupe now. The vast majority I see rely on groups, connections, or friends.. even with the devaluation the market is booming for the lazy, using pocket change for OP gear. anyways, to realize the significance.. A faction can now easily double base count after griefs.. that's great making up for A few spawn junkies, only stashes will matter and hardly even them if you dupe in many locations.. but I think the most groundbreaking thing if achieved would be fully autonamous duping and stashing. Could you even IMAGINE? But.. that depends on how comparable upcoming dupes are with programs like BARITONE.. ... 14
