Chicken biryani in pressure cooker | चिकन बिरयानी कुकर में बनाने का आसान तरीका
Learn how to make Chicken Biryani Recipe in Pressure Cooker. In this chicken dum biryani recipe video tutorial, I have included all the steps in detail on how to make delicious chicken biryani in an easy way.
Pressure cooker chicken biryani can be made within 30 minutes.
This chicken biryani recipe is made in the Hyderabadi style. The total time taken to cook the biryani on dum is reduced to 5 minutes while making chicken dum biryani in a pressure cooker.
I have used homemade Hyderabadi biryani masala powder for making this recipe.

How to make Chicken Biryani recipe in Pressure cooker step by step:
1. Wash Basmati rice with water till the cloudiness of water is gone. Soak it in water for 30 minutes.
2. To Marinate the Chicken, take chicken pieces in a large mixing bowl. Add curd, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, biryani masala powder, coriander leaves,
mint leaves, salt and ghee/clarified butter. Mix it well. Cover & keep it
aside.
3. For cooking rice for Biryani, take a vessel filled with 6 cups of water. Add salt, bay leaf, cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon, caraway
seeds, and ghee. Let the water come to a boil.
4. When the water starts boiling, add drained basmati rice to it. Cook it till it is 60 % done. The rice grains will be soft but it will remain firm then you press it. Drain it to a colander. Basmati rice for making
biryani is ready. Keep it aside.
5. To make chicken biryani heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add half of the sliced onion. fry it till it is golden brown in color. Remove it on a kitchen tissue. Now fry the other half of the sliced onion.
6. Once the onion is golden brown in color add the marinated chicken pieces. Cook it till it is 80% done.
7. Keep the flame on low and add mint & coriander leaves. Now layer the prepared rice over it. Spread it evenly.
8. Sprinkle fried onion, coriander leaves, mint leaves, saffron milk, orange food color mixed in kewra essence, ghee/clarified butter
and biryani masala powder. Now close the lid of the pressure cooker.
9. Cook it on a medium flame for exactly 5 minutes. If whistle comes within 5 minutes then ok and if not then also close the flame
after 5 minutes. We are cooking the chicken biryani on dum for 5 minutes.
10. Once the flame is switched off release the pressure of the pressure cooker immediately.
11. Open the lid. A heavenly aroma of chicken biryani will fill up in your entire home. Chicken biryani in a pressure cooker is ready.
12. Serve Chicken biryani with Raita and salad.
