I was suffering from insomnia for so many years. I tried lot of products which you could buy to heal from insomnia. Products like a herbal pillow, anti-stress pillow spray, essential oils etc… but nothing really worked. When I put my head on my pillow to go to sleep my brain start to work, literally. Negative ideas, all my worries, fears, all my miscommunication and all my old struggles get on my mind and I start thinking of them. I just couldn’t stop thinking these negative thoughts. I started to do some research and I found two techniques to eliminate the negative thoughts, which really worked the best for me. First one is the visualization technique. - when you get a negative thought, you start imaging a black trash bag in your head - visualize the idea, that bothers you at that moment, as something physical - take that idea and throw it in the trash bag and close the trash bag If the idea comes out again you will take it and throw it back to the trash bag The power of this technique is that your brain can see the idea of throwing the thought(s) to the trash. This trains your brain that this idea isn’t important and the brain will stop bring this up to be processed. I used the visualization technique with the labor of my child birth as a pain relief for the contractions. This is so powerful that I didn’t needed or used an epidural or no pain relievers. This technique can literally control your pain, because it’s all in your brain. My second best technique of how to get rid of negative thoughts is repeating one word all day long. This technique comes close to mantra technique because it helps to focus on 1 idea which is 1 word. You can choose with word you want to repeat, for example the word red or square. So when you get a negative idea you can start saying RED RED RED RED and really focus on this word. This ways you will get distracted from thinking the negative thoughts. You may find using this technique a bit difficult the first couple of days. You will be fighting these negatives thoughts anytime they come to mind, by starting to repeat and focusing on just that single word you did choose. But after couple of days I guaranty you that you will get successful, just believe on yourself and your power. I did choose for the word AstaghfiroALLAH, because it has a big value in my believe. So with these two techniques we have learned how to get rid of the negatives through, but these techniques aren’t enough for good night of sleep if you are having one or more bad night habits. These habits can be small actions like staying up until late at night, using a screen within an hour of before going to bed, using a screen while you are in bed, or just drinking late night caffeine etc. I used to stay awake very late and using a screen for a long time. I changed my behavior by changing my time I go to bed. I now go to sleep around 22 or 23 and stopped using my phone in bed. I also started doing some sports Yoga and mediate during the day, reduce the amount of light and the evening and at night and finish with a nice warm shower. These are all extra factors for having a good night of sleep. If you don’t have your mind at peace and rest you won’t get a good night of sleep, even if you took a shower with 1 liter of lavender essentials oil.
