Thengai sadam, coconut rice is a simple south Indian variety rice with a burst of flavors from fresh coconut and coconut oil.
In south India, coconut rice is a favorite and is made during festivals like Pongal and Navratri. Some of the naivedyam or prasad during Adi Month.
There are some variations of coconut rice in the South Indian states. Here I have shown coconut rice for prasantam to God.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
1 tbsp Channa dal ( Kadala Parupu )
1 tsp urad dhall ( ulundhu )
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Few Curry leafs
1 Green Chilli
10 cashew nuts
1/2 tsp Asafetida
Salt
Coconut oil / Vegetable oil
Bahan-bahan
2 1/2 cawan nasi
1/2 cawan kelapa parut segar
1 sudu besar Dal kuda (Kadala Parupu)
1 sdt urad dhall (ulundhu)
1/2 sudu kecil biji sawi
Sedikit daun kari
1 Cili Hijau
10 biji gajus
1/2 sudu kecil Asafetida
Garam
Minyak kelapa / minyak sayuran
